Henry joins Alpine FC from the San Ramon Soccer Club.  Henry is a local product and was an outstanding player at the Woodside Priory School.

Ramiro Arredondo - miros10@gmail.com
Ramiro returns to the Peninsula where he began his soccer career.  A member of the first Athletic Hall of Fame class at the Woodside Priory School, Ramiro notched an astonishing 96 goals and 70 assists during his high school career.  He played for several youth club teams with whom he won three State Cup Championships and was a member of numerous State, Regional and National teams.  Ramiro played at UC Berkeley, where he was team captain his junior and senior seasons and he earned Pac-10 first team honors for three years and a BA in Art and Architecture in 2001. 

Ramiro's coaching career is no less stellar; he has served as a trainer and coach at the San Ramon Soccer Club since 2001 where he created an Age Specific Training Program.  His U11 team was Nor Cal Premier State Champions in 2008-2009.  Ramiro is active as a scout, evaluator, coach and administrator for a variety of ODP and PDP/iD2 programs and has earned NSCAA Advanced Regional and National Youth Diplomas as well as holding a USSF National C License.

Chris Behler is an assistant coach with the San Jose State University men’s soccer program. He began his duties as a graduate assistant in 2003.  The multiple-sport athlete lettered in football, lacrosse and soccer at Sonoma State University from 1989-91. He was part of the team that finished second at the 1991 NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship. He earned a bachelor’s degree majoring in business management, with a minor in marketing. Behler is a native of San Jose.

For three seasons prior to his arrival at San Jose State, Behler worked as the girl’s soccer assistant coach at nearby Presentation High School under legendary Spartan Mani Hernandez. He helped Presentation to a Central Coast Section title in 2003 and a co-championship in 2002. Also in 2002, he was an assistant with the Hartnell College women’s team in Salinas, Calif., helping the junior college program to a first-ever playoff appearance.

Graham Betchart, MA, is the founder of GB Performance Coaching, a unique mental skills training program.  Graham offers personal and team mental skills training as well as clinics and motivational talks.  Graham is developing a unique online training program for Alpine FC players and their parents that will teach how to mentally prepare for and react to challenges in soccer, academics and other arenas.

Ty Blair has a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology and has taught physical Education  in Union City since 1990. Ty has been coaching soccer since 1987 at many levels, from U-7 to the Community College and with both genders. Ty also has a very strong background in the sport of Track and Field, coaching at James Logan high school for 10 years, with numerous California State and National champions. Ty has an NSCAA "Advanced National" soccer coaching diploma, as well as the National "B" course, along with completing the National Elite Youth Development Camp held in the U. S. Olympic Training Facility in Chula Vista CA.  Ty's strengths include development of reaction time, acceleration, agility, max velocity, power, strength, body management, coordination, mechanics of proper athletic movement, and flexibility.

Jose Caballero - joswildcat@aol.com
Jose has a wealth of international coaching experience and holds a USSF B license as well as NSCAA Advanced National diploma. Jose is a student of the sport, earning certificates from courses in Brazil, Holland and England.   He is also an experienced classroom academic teacher and personal athletic trainer.  Many of Jose's former players have advanced to play Division 1 college soccer.

Ernesto is the head coach of the Palo Alto High School varsity girls' team.  He has coached for Alpine FC since 2000.  Ernesto also collects used uniforms and personally delivers them to poverty driven communities in El Salvador.  Ernesto also played professionally for many years in El Salvador.

Coach Armando del Rio has been involved in the game of soccer since he was 6 years old. As a player, Armando played for Juventus Sport Club and MVLA, and finished his club playing career with the Palo Alto Pumas, where the team won Surf Cup, Dallas Cup, and State Cup. He was also a member of the District 2 and Cal-North State ODP team. He then went on to earn a soccer scholarship to Notre Dame de Namur University.

 

As a coach, Armando served as an assistant coach for the Menlo College women’s team under Owen Flannery during the program’s first ever Cal-Pac Championship in 2006. In addition, he was the head coach for the Cal-North District 2 94’ Girls ODP team, and a UC Berkeley Summer Academy coach. He still serves as a Cal North State ODP Evaluator. Currently, Armando serves as the Director of Soccer at the Priory School in Portola Valley, where he also is the head girls varsity soccer coach. Professionally, Armando holds an NSCAA National and Advanced Regional Diploma, and a Psychology for Soccer Certificate from the English FA.
 

Owen Flannery - owenflannery@hotmail.com
Owen Flannery joined Alpine FC in August 2008 as the club's inaugural Director of Coaching.  Owen received his BS in Kinesiology from San Jose State University, where he played four years of varsity soccer on a team ranked #1 nationally, and is working toward  his Master's in Sports Psychology.  He holds the following licenses:
  • United States Soccer Federation A License
  • National Soccer Coaches Association of America National Advanced License
  • National Soccer Coaches Association of America Goalkeeper I & II
  • National Soccer Coaches Association of America National Youth License and
  • Positive Coaching Alliance Double Gold Club.
Flannery served as Director of Soccer at Menlo College from 2005-2007, where he took the women's team from 0-15 to a California Pacific Conference championship and was twice awarded Coach of the Year honors.  He currently serves as Head Women's Coach at Foothill JC where he has taken the Owls to consecutive League Championships.  Owen was also appointed DOC at MP Strikers as part of the Alliance between the two clubs.

Rick Holland - hollandrp@gmail.com
Rick  moved to the area from Europe where he had been coaching soccer at the American University of Greece and playing for Helandri Football Club (a 4th division club in Athens) until early 2007.  He coached division III college soccer in St. Louis, MO for two years while earning a Masters degree in Sports Coaching.   RIck hold a NSCAA advanced national coaching license and the level I goalkeeper license and has coached both men's and women's soccer at the high school and college levels.

Coach Wayne is a USSF "A" and UEFA "B" licensed coach with 23 years of coaching experience.  He has coaches toddlers through adults including international experience in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Japan and, of course, the United States.  Originally from Sheffield, UK, Wayne has resided in the Bay Area since 1985 and has played locally as well as internationally.

As a head girls coach at St. Francis High School, Zack Masters led the team to four conference championships and four Sac-Joaquin section championships in five seasons, and a No.3 national ranking by the NSCAA. In 2004, Masters was named Coach of The Year for California Private and Parochial schools by the NSCAA. As head coach with the San Juan Soccer Club in Folsom, California, Masters took three teams to the CYSA State Cup quarterfinals.
Masters earned his Bachelors in Physical Education with an emphasis in teaching/coaching from Sacramento State in 1999. In 2004, He holds a Master's in Education Cross-Cultural teaching from National University. In addition, Masters has a California single subject teaching credential in physical education.

Tulin Mendoza played professionally for eight years in Bolivia and is the CEO of Real Sol Soccer Academy.  Tulin earned a BA in Sports Psychology from USF and has earned his National "C" license.  Tulin serves as an evaluator/selector for the CYSA-N State ODP teams and has extensive experience in public relations and sports marketing

Paul grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area playing for the Almaden Clash, then Palo Alto Pumas which won Dallas Cup and State Cup in 2002. He graduated from Bellarmine College Prep where his team set a Nor Cal high school record, going unbeaten in 72 matches, stretching over 3 years. He was a 2-time WCAL 1st Team All-League and Defensive MVP, and 2-time San Jose Mercury News CCS 1st Team. He was named San Jose Mercury News Senior of the Year and Student Sports Magazine boys' Bay Area Soccer Player of the Year.  
 
In 2001-02 he played at Santa Clara University, before transferring to Fresno State, playing two years in the Pac-10 before Fresno State's Athletic Department cut men's soccer from the school. As a sophomore at Fresno State, Paul was named Team Captain. He then transferred to Fresno Pacific University, where he finished his college career, after being named All-GSAC 1st team and team defensive MVP for the 2004 and 2005 seasons. During his college years he also spent three seasons with Fresno Fuego in the USL Premier Development League.
 
Paul signed his first professional contract with the Montreal Impact of the USL 1st Division in February 2007 for one year. The next season he signed with the Minnesota Thunder of the USL 1st Division, where he spent the next two years playing, and it was in Minnesota where Paul began his coaching career. He helped the Minnesota Thunder launch its own academy program, Minnesota Thunder Academy, as a technical trainer for its U-10 and U-12 age groups, both boys and girls. He also coached boys for one season at Jefferson High School, before moving back to California to get involved with youth coaching in the Bay Area.
 
He is currently the boys Head Varsity Coach Boys Soccer at The Priory, as well as coaching boys' teams in the MP Strikers and Alpine FC clubs. 

Scott Myers - smyers@menlo.edu
Scott Myers is the head coach of the women's soccer program at Menlo College, having spent two years at Embry-Riddle, in Daytona Beach, FL. Scott served as  a graduate assistant goalkeepr coach for the women's soccer team at Redlands; they won the 2006 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title and Redlands' top goalie earned All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American honors.  Myers also spent time as an assistant for the men's and women's programs at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was a staff coach at the Heartland Soccer Club from 2001-06 where he led the U14 boys to a state title.

Myers earned his undergraduate degree in Science from Coe in 2001 and earned his Master's degree in Higher Education from Redlands in 2008. He has a USSF National C License, as well as NSCAA Goalkeeping Diplomas at Levels I-III.

Mike Patrick transitioned to coaching after playing at San Jose State from 2000-2003.  He has served as an assistant for the Canada College women's team and at Cupertino High School for the Boys Varsity.  He also has coached at a club level for both boys and girls teams at various ages.

Gino Pucillo - ginopucillo@yahoo.com
Gino comes to Alpine FC from Walnut Creek Soccer Club where he has served as training coordinator for the U9-U10 age group.  He has coached successful teams at De Anza Force (head coach) as well as Foothill College (assistant coach)  and holds his NSCAA Advanced National and Youth National licenses.  He is accredited with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) and has a BS from San Jose State in Kinesiology where he is finishing his MA in Sports Psychology.  Gino played for the San Francisco Vikings, CYSA-N State ODP, Saint Ignatius College Prep and San Jose State University.

Kim Yokers - r3kimberly@gmail.com
Kim joined the FC Gold Pride for its inaugural season in 2009 after a four-year career as stating center midfielder at UC Berkeley (graduating in 2004), and a member of the US U21 National Team from 2002-2004.  Kim's coaching experience includes team and personal training for all ages for the past four years and Technical Skills Trainer and Facility Manager at Sutton Soccer (Alameda) from 2006-present.
